Pesaro -
Ser Jacopo's
Hometown

So where and what is Pesaro? It's a small maritime city, which is the birthplace of composer Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868). A "Rossini Festival" is held each year and opera lovers from throughout Europe attend to attend performances by the world's greatest talents. In fact, Luciano Pavarotti, a native of Modena to the north, owns a home in Pesaro overlooking the Adriatic, so he won't be staying at your hotel if you attend the festival.

Pesaro boasts several Art Nouveau inspired "Liberty Style" buildings which are exquisitely ornamental and striking.
Pesaro is a popular destination of Northern Europeans who fill the hotels along the beautiful beaches during the Summer.
Pesaro's professional basketball team, Scavolini, has been European champions on several occassions.
Mastro de Paja, Rinaldo, L'Anatara, and Il Ceppo are also based in Pesaro. Don Carlos is a few miles south in Caglie.
