Discussing the day with some finished pipes on the
table. The metal apparatus that looks like a top hat with holes
above the brim is the device Ser Jacopo has made for bending
stems to specific shapes. It's imperative that stems be slowly
but thoroughly heated prior to bending. If they're heated too
quickly, they won't stay bent and will revert to their original
shape.
